    Studio

Mike and Morlly Architects are a residential architecture studio working across Sydney and Melbourne, creating bespoke homes.

Our work brings architecture and interior architecture together as a single, considered act — shaped by site, context, and the way our clients want to live. Each project is approached as a unique response, carefully developed through design inquiry, spatial clarity, and material sensitivity.

We lead projects from early concept through to realisation, maintaining architectural authorship to ensure ideas are carried through with intent and integrity. Our studio is deliberately focused, working with clients who value thoughtful process, design rigour, and long-term quality over standardised outcomes.

Our experience spans private residences, alterations and additions, duplexes, and multi-residential projects, where careful planning understanding and detailed resolution are fundamental to the architecture.

Morlly’s approach to architecture is defined by an appreciation of proportion, materiality and the quiet relationship between a home and its setting.

Her early career was spent within a boutique architectural practice specialising in multi-residential design, including apartments within some of Sydney’s coastal neighbourhoods. Working in these settings cultivated an enduring interest in the qualities of coastal living — natural light, openness, tactile materials and an effortless connection between interior and landscape.

These influences continue to shape her work today. For Morlly, coastal design is less an aesthetic than a way of living: spaces that feel calm and generous, materials that become richer with time, and interiors that sit naturally within their architectural surroundings.

Together with Mike, Morlly established Mike and Morlly Architects, with the practice rooted in both Mosman and Melbourne. Their shared approach brings together architecture and interiors with an emphasis on considered, enduring residential design. With the studio now expanding to Watsons Bay, its connection to Sydney Harbour and coastal living continues to shape the practice’s evolving design language.

As Director and Nominated Architect, Morlly works across architecture and interiors, bringing a particular sensitivity to spatial composition, material selection and the relationship between architecture, interior and place.

    Approach

We see architecture as a collaborative but curated process — one that listens closely, edits carefully, and results in buildings and interiors that feel calm, resolved, and enduring.

We believe architecture should be timeless.
